Security Bulletin 20051005
Bogus E-Mail Sent to Merchants
On October 5, 2005, an Electronic Clearing House (ECHO) merchant received an e-mail that claimed to be a notice from
ECHO. The e-mail requested that the recipient click a link at the bottom of the message to visit a bogus Web site to provide new "administrative" information. If you have received one of these notices, DO NOT respond or click the link. This is a fraud attempt.
NOTICE: We will never e-mail our merchants to request specific merchant information about your account. If you receive an official looking fax or e-mail "from
ECHO" asking for personal and/or merchant specific information, know that it is not from
ECHO and do not respond to this request for information.
A opy of the bogus e-mail follows this bulletin. Should you receive an e-mail of this nature or if you have already responded to a similar e-mail request, please contact our Security Department immediately at 800-262-3246
Security is a shared responsibility that we all must take very seriously. We appreciate your diligence and cooperation.

Security Bulletin 20050308
On March 8, 2005, an Electronic Clearing House (ECHO) merchant reported receiving a fax that said it was from
ECHO' s Security Team and it requested personal information on the business owner (social security number, etc.) and other specific merchant account information (Terminal ID's, etc.). While
ECHO' s Security Department will request a fax to confirm that a specific transaction took place, it would never request this level of personal and business information from you and request that it be faxed.
NOTICE: If you get an official looking fax asking for personal and/or merchant specific information, know that it is not from
ECHO and do not respond to this request for information.
A copy of the bogus fax follows this bulletin . Should you receive a fax of this nature or if you have already responded to a similar fax request, please contact our Security Department immediately at 800-262-3246
