Visa POS Check Services for Acquiring Banks
As one of the primary third party processors in the Visa POS Check Program, ECHO provides processing services for a majority of the Visa Acquiring Banks participating in the Program. With its range of check service capabilities, ECHO offers acquiring banks both processing through the Visa and ACH systems, and check verification for checks not drawn on banks participating in the Visa POS Check program. Other services offered for acquiring banks include check collections, terminal deployment, merchant underwriting and checkwriter support.


Third-Party Processing – As a third-party processor, ECHO offers banks its processing services for merchants underwritten by the bank for the bank’s portfolio. ECHO’s third-party processing clients include banks whose merchants are provided payment services such as:

• Electronic check processing through the Automated Clearing House
• Electronic check conversion at the point of sale
• Check guarantee and check verification
• Check collections
• Consolidated returned check processing

Depending upon the bank’s needs, additional levels of support for these payments can include, merchant and checkwriter support, terminal deployment and set-up, and merchant underwriting.

Agent Banks - Small to mid-sized banks have traditionally relied on ECHO for processing their merchant’s credit card payments for the banks’ merchants.
